Martha Ann Gibson Spoonamore, 85, of Star City passed away on December 13, 2019 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was born on October 25, 1934 in Dermott to the late Frank Anderson and Edna Bond Gibson.
Mrs. Spoonamore was a member of Center Missionary Baptist Church at Woodlawn, a salesperson for Protho Jewelry Store in Dermott and a homemaker. She enjoyed cross-stitching, cooking, playing the piano and playing bingo, but most of all loved her family.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, Clyde Spoonamore, who she married March 25, 1959; a son, Joe Spoonamore; two brothers, William “Bill” Gibson and Frank Gibson, Jr.; a sister, Edna Bond Gibson; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Gibson.
Survivors include her son, John Spoonamore; daughter, Kay (David) Pauley; brother, Eugene Gibson, all of Star City; six grandchildren, Hannah (Austin) Lisenby, Charity (Nathan) Whipple, Christopher Michael Spoonamore, Courtney Pauley, Amy Spoonamore and Martha Pauley; and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Gibson of Star City and Kay Gibson of Lake Jackson, Texas.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Doney Blackerby and Bro. Michael Fuqua officiating. Visitation Sunday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rowell Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tym Montgomery, Russell Whipple, Duane Cochrane, Truman Cooper, Paul Whipple, Cody Holloway, Shane Holloway, Kelly Slater, Ed Moore and Layne Baugh.
