Mary Belle McClain Parnell, 89, of Warren, died on April 13, 2016 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

She was born on March 11, 1927, at Rye and was the daughter of the late Henry Bester McClain and Gracie Mae Roberts McClain.

Mrs. Parnell was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the widow of Clyde Wayne Parnell. She enjoyed gardening, canning and sewing stuffed rabbits and Raggedy Ann dolls, all of which won many blue ribbons at the Bradley County Fair. She spent many years working at Gannaway’s Drug Store.

Mrs. Parnell was a generous mother, a wonderful grandmother and the ultimate caregiver.

Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Coy Fike McClain and Roy McClain.

Survivors are one son, David Parnell and wife Joyce of Nash, Texas; a daughter, Paula Lamberson and husband Ken of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Reid Lamberson of Dallas, Texas and Mary Robyn Schmahl of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; two great-grandchildren Tyler Schmahl and Owen Schmahl.

A graveside service will be held on April 16 at 4 p.m. at Union Cemetery in Rye with Rev. Reuel Cruce officiating.
