Mary Elizabeth Hale, 91, of Hamburg, died December 26, 2013 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett.
Mrs. Hale was a native and lifelong resident of Hamburg and Ashley County. She was a homemaker and a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Snyder and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Brady Pope Hale; a daughter, Mary Keech; a great-granddaughter, Amanda Whitehead; her parents, Henry Elmer and Lou Ella Slater Austin; two brothers, Henry and Houston Austin; two sisters, Olivia Judkins and Gwen Pryor; three half sisters, Addie Harris, Eloise Norris and Eula Christmas and two half brothers, Elbert and Gerald Austin.
She is survived by two sons, Willis Hale and wife, Patricia, of Hamburg and Marion Hale and wife, Barbara, of Lake Village; a daughter, Norma Jean Trout and husband, James, of Palestine, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel on December 29 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Vaughn Blue Jr. and Rev. Ray Mills officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Mickey Hale, William Ferguson, Hal Ferguson, Bryan Hale, Emory Austin, Fred Ricks, Wilbur Austin and Joe McDill.
