Mary Evelyn Oglesby, 72, of McGehee, died June 13, 2014.
A graduate of Ouachita Baptist University, she was a retired school teacher and taught music in the New Orleans Public School District.
Miss Oglesby was a former Miss McGehee and competed in the Miss Arkansas Pageant. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of McGehee and loved to sing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Evelyn Hudgens Oglesby, and a brother, Donald Oglesby.
Survivors include her cousins, Dr. Randolph Oglesby of Maumelle, Neita Brady and Gail Hardin of San Antonio, Texas, Lamont Seals, Jr. of Missouri, Bill Oglesby of Baton Rouge, La., Ann Oglesby Houston of Palm Desert, Calif., Cynthia Oglesby Boshears of Maumelle, Billie Faye Oglesby Gailey of Pine Bluff; a close friend, Jamie Stallans; and caregivers, Marsha and Kelly Barber, and her nursing home family.
Visitation will be held June 15 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in McGehee. Funeral services will follow visitation at 3 p.m. at the church with Rev. Joe Head officiating.
