Mary Jane Deaton, 74, of McGehee, died on July 20, 2015 in McGehee.
She was a former store manager for Dollar General and worked for McGehee Industries. She enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, and working in her flower garden. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
She was born on December 17, 1940 in Tillar and was the daughter of the late Harold Elvis and Margie Mae Bishop Maynard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by step-father, Charlie Lay.
Survivors include her sons, Donald Ray (LaRhonda) Deaton of McGehee, Roy Lee (Faye) Deaton of McGehee, a daughter, Cheril Owen of Houston, Texas; brothers, James (Nadene) Maynard of Alton, Illinois, Harold Maynard of California, Freddie (Rita) Lay of Wisconsin, and Henry Lay of Dermott; grandchildren, Drew (Kirby) Jamison of Dollar Hill, Whitney (Jacob) Hays of McGehee, Christopher Barley of Texas, Jacob Deaton of McGehee, and Holt (Stephannie) Owen of Texas; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Jamison, Hunter Hays, Addison Hays, and Kreed Owen.
Visitation will be held on July 24 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. Funeral services will be held on July 25 at 10 a.m. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service Chapel in McGehee. Burial will be at Dermott Cemetery in Dermott.
