Mary Lucille Harrison Ollar, 87 of Star City, died July 1, 2014, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
She was born March 19, 1927 in Star City to the late Rex William, Sr. and Euist Burr Harrison.
Mrs. Ollar was a member of the First Baptist Church in Star City and a 1945 graduate of Star City High School. She was retired co-owner of Ollar’s Thriftway (City Market) in Star City from 1957 until 1984 and office manager for Griffin Funeral Service in Star City from 1985 until 2009.
She also served on the Board of Directors at the Bank of Star City for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rex William, Sr. and Euist Burr Harrison; her husband, Lloyd E. Ollar, Sr. and brother, Rex William Harrison, Jr.
Survivors include a son, L. Elwin (Marilyn) Ollar, Jr. of Searcy; a daughter, Sylvia Lou Ollar of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Amber (Chris) Ollar Seroka of Argyle, Texas, Angela Ollar of Dallas, Texas and Michael (Casey) Lloyd Ollar of Malvern; two step-grandchildren, Rhonda (Kelley) Hoover Holt of Rison and Amy (Paul) Hoover Russell of Kemah, Texas; and friend and caregiver, Anneta Moore of Star City.
Funeral services will be held July 5 at 2 p.m. the First Baptist Church in Star City with Bro. J.C. Patterson officiating. Visitation is from noon until 1:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service. There will be no graveside service.
Pallbearers are Woodrow Jackson, Johnny McGraw, Wayne Harmon, Gary McGehee, Steve Lovett, Barry Saffold, Roger Harrison, Reed Thornton, Raymond Morgan, Donald Carr and Van Nichols. Honorary pallbearers are Robert McBryde, Malvin Ray Moore, Bennie Ryburn, Jr., Billy Burt French, John D. Dedmon, MD, John E. Harris, MD, H. Mark Atwood, MD, Sara Hanna, MD, Tiffany Smith, MD, and the staff of Griffin Funeral Service.
