Mary Mina Jacks Haynes, 100, of Star City, died on October 28, 2015 at Gardner Nursing Home.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a cosmetologist and airplane mechanic in the 1940s.
Mrs. Haynes was an elder of Shell Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Home Demonstration Club. She member of the 4-H Club during three different decades.
She was born August 28, 1915 in Rest, Arkansas and was the daugher of the late Alphew and Cornelia “Nealie” Etta Owen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Miles T. “M.T” Haynes; five brothers, Havis Jacks, Calvin Jacks, Homer Jacks, Glen Jacks, and Hollin Jacks; and three sisters, Florence Chance, Ola Mae Waggner and Laura Parker.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Haynes and Mark Haynes, both of Star City; a daughter, Beth Sharp of Batesville; a sister, Adith Axley of Star City; seven grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation is Octoer 30 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Funeral services will be held on Octoer 31 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
