Mary Ruth Miles, 86, of Crossett, died January 8, 2014 at the Robinson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Little Rock.
She was a native of Hamburg , a resident of Crossett for most of her life, and a resident of Sherwood for the past 12 years.
Mrs. Miles was a homemaker, a former member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Crossett and current member of the Fellowship Christian Center in Sherwood. She was a self-taught author and wrote a book about her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, T.V. Miles; a son, Harry David Miles; her parents, John W. and Minnie Jane Ware Mann; two brothers, John W. Mann and Lynn Howard; four sisters, Johnnie Wiese Kelley, Laverne Kelley; Margie Lois Jeffers and Minnie Bell Scott.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Clark of Sherwood and Sherrye Ginn and husband, Dewitt, of Walker, La.; three sons, John Miles and wife, Diane; Ralph Miles and wife, Fran, all of Crossett and Ronnie Miles and wife, Beckie, of Little Rock; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held January 11 at 10 a.m. at the Simms Cemetery with Rev. Robin Allen officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 N. University Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72207.
Visitation will be January 10 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home at Hamburg.
