Maxine Hagood Lankford, 82, of Fountain Hill, died May 10, 2014 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
Mrs. Lankford was a native of Drew County and a resident of Fountain Hill and northern Ashley County all of her life. She worked at the Hamburg Shirt Factory for over 20 years and she was a member of the Bayou Mason Baptist Church in Lake Village.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, David Hagood in 1966 and second husband Winford Lankford Sr. in 1998; a granddaughter, Tina Hayden; her parents, Marion and Daisy Chambers Hill and two brothers, G.T. Hill Jr. and Lavon Hill.
She is survived by a son, David Hagood and wife, Sandra, of Lake Village; two daughters, Linda Riley Spruell and husband, Ricky, and Judy Spruell and husband, Clifford, all of Fountain Hill; two brothers, Russell Hill and Billy George Carpenter both of Lake Village; two sisters, Susie Brooks of Trona, California and Margaret Graham of Ridgecrest, California; four grandchildren, Teresa Brazier, Bryan Hayden, Kevin Riley and Sarah Hagood; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held May 13 at 2 p.m. at the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery in Drew County.
Pallbearers are Kane Riley, Jimmy Shaver, Rusty Hill, Barry Hill, Shannon Hill, James Hill, Rick Brazier and Teddy Clayton. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren.
Visitation will be May 12 after 1 p.m., at her home located at 304 Maple Street in Fountain Hill.
