Maxine Parsons Cain, 87, of Warren, died on October 6, 2014, at the Hospice Home Care facility in Little Rock.

Mrs. Cain was a former beautician and beauty shop owner, an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Warren where she served as an elder, taught Sunday school and worked in many other capacities, including Women of the Church and hospitality. She was a former member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, was an accomplished seamstress, kept an immaculate house, and tended a bountiful garden.

Mrs. Cain was active in the Warren YMCA and devoted herself to the many school, church, sports and music activities of her multi-generational family spanning over fifty years. Her dedication to family, church and community was evident in all that she did.

She was born on October 20, 1926, in Mountain View and was the daughter of the late Jack and Arlie Long Parsons.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Cain, and her brother, William Franklin Parsons of Mountain View.

She is survived by her four children, Larry D. Bates of Little Rock and his wife, Sherry, Mary Ellen Cain of Silver Spring, Maryland, Susan Cain Hunter of Fort Smith, and Dr. Robert C. Cain of Knoxville, TennesseeN and his wife, Dr. Pamela Cain; her sister-in-law, Helen Parsons of Mountain View, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held October 9 at 2 p.m. at Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren with Rev. Philip Farris officiating.
