A McGehee man was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday for the November 2017 fatal shooting of 20-year-old Christon Sheets of Wilmar.
Jarell Terry, 25, of McGehee, was convicted by a Drew County jury of first-degree murder, aggravated robbery and theft. He received a life sentence for murder, a life sentence for aggravated robbery and a 15-year sentence for theft.
The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. on November 14, 2017 at Sheets’ home in Wilmar. Sheets was shot twice in the abdomen and died at a local hospital.
Terry was arrested by U.S. marshals in Pulaski County two days after the shooting.
Dominze K. Figures, 24, of McGehee, also charged in Sheets’ death, has not yet been tried.
