A McGehee man was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday for the November 2014 strangulation death of 33-year-old Rebekah Singh of McGehee, who was initially reported as a missing person. Her body was later discovered in Bayou Bartholomew.
Danny Joe Burchfield, 27, pleaded guilty to the murder.
Circuit Judge Sam Pope imposed the recommended sentence of life imprisonment.
