Merle McDougald, 71, of Monticello, passed away on April 18, 2018 in Little Rock.
He was born on January 5, 1947 in Gravelridge, Arkansas and was the son of the late William Clay McDougald and Flora Langston McDougald.
Mr. McDougal was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and was a mechanic.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Boyette McDougald; a son. Kevin Wayne McDougald; and a sister, Maysel Williams.
He is survived by two sons, Jason Colby McDougald and Nicholas Gene McDougald, both of Monticello; a daughter, Tammy Jo Stain and husband Steven of Monticello; four brothers, Wayne McDougald and wife Barbara of Burleson, Texas, Danny McDougald and wife Lori of Hermitage, Kenneth McDougald and wife Brenda of Warren, and Jim Bob McDougald and wife Donna of Clanton Alabama; a sister, Jacqualin Johnson and husband Jerry of Warren; and six grandchildren, Kendall Stain, William Colby McDougald, Kelli Jo Stain, Kevin William Stain, Kelsi Leeann McDougald and Hunter Morgan McDougald. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a special friend Rose Stain.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 23 at 10 a.m. at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. David Inzer officiating. Burial will be at Gravelridge Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are David Lyon, Jason McDougald, Steven Stain, Jimmy Williams, James Carol Evans, Marty Forrest, and Jim Bob Williams. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Johnson, Richard Ross, Johnny Palmer, Norman Carter, Billy Bethea, Wayne Steadman, Jim Anders, William McDougald, and Kevin Stain.
