Miles Albert “Pill” Davis, 72, of Monticello, passed away on September 28, 2018 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
He was born on December 31, 1945 in Rowell and was the son of the late Odis L. Davis and Gertrude James Davis.
Mr. Davis was a retired fitter at SeaArk Marine and a Baptist. He attended Calvary Baptist Church. He was a mechanic at heart, loved hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends about town, but most important to him was frequent visits to his quiet place to spend time with his Lord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Donald Davis and three sisters, Martha Crawford, Gladys Rash and Ruby Dalsis.
Survivors include his wife, Lelia Guin Davis of Monticello; two sons, Miles Douglas Davis and wife Susan R. and Willie Rex Davis and wife Sabrina all of Monticello; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Maggie Lloyd of Collins, Mildred Bateman and Audrey Connor both of Pine Bluff and Louise Davison of Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews and friends and a son by choice, Rodney Pruitt of Mobile, Alabama.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 30 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 1, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Union Cemetery at Rye.
