Staff members from the Monticello and Drew Central school districts are competing for bragging rights and a healthier lifestyle in a “Biggest Loser” weight-loss competition, according to a Monticello School District news release. The eight-week competition, which begins on January 17 and ends on March 13, will include bi-monthly weigh-ins to chart progress and determine which team is ahead. Individual prizes will be awarded to those who lose the greatest percentage of body weight and the most pounds overall.

Regardless of the outcome, every participating staff member will come out a winner by being focused on a healthier lifestyle.

“It is our hope that members of the community will see what we are doing and be inspired to start their own Biggest Loser competition,” said Laura Fawcett, Drew Central’s coordinated school health director.
