[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Monticello will host the 2015 Cal Ripken Major/60 World Series next summer the week of August 7-14, according to a news release from the Babe Ruth League, Inc. International headquarters.

Monticello hosted the 16 year old Babe Ruth World Series in 2005 and the 15-year-old Cal Ripken World Series in 2010.

“We are honored to be returning to Monticello with our 2015 Cal Ripken Major/60 World Series,” said Babe Ruth League Vice President and Commissioner Robert Faherty. “In awarding a World Series, the main factors we consider are the facility, World Series Committee and will the community support the World Series. We also look for areas that in addition to offering a competitive athletic experience, can also offer a diverse cultural and educational experience. Monticello has all of these ingredients and more. The 2015 Cal Ripken Major/60 World Series will be a fun and memorable time for all.”

A Babe Ruth World Series has a high economic impression on any community that plays host to this prestigious event, especially the local hotels, restaurants, businesses and resort areas, according to the news release

Babe Ruth president and chief executive officer Steve Tellefsen said Monticello will make the “perfect home away from home” for the players and guests,
