The Monticello Rotary Club will host the first “Feed the Kids 5K” walk and run on Saturday, September 7 on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Monticello.

In addition to the 5K, there will be a fun run for kids around Weevil Pond. Proceeds from entry fees will be donated to the Monticello Feed the Kids Foundation. The 5K run and kids fun run begin at 8 a.m. The 5K walk begins at 7:45 a.m.  Each event requires a $25 entry fee paid in advance or $30 on the day of the race.

Registration will begin at 7:15 a.m. on the west side of Weevil Pond next to Harris Hall. Participants are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes early.  Prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female walk winners, the male and female run winners, and medals for the first three places in the following age groups – 0-13, 15-24, 25-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. An awards ceremony will be held in front of the University Center after the races.
