The Monticello School District has been awarded a $25,000 grant to purchase ipads for the Monticello Intermediate School’s Project Lead the Way model classrooms.

The grant was awarded through the America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education which is sponsored by the Monsanto Fund program. Area farmers nominated the school, making the school eligible to apply for the grant.

“The Monticello School District would like to thank the area farmers for the nomination,” said Stephanie Brown, Monticello School District grant writer. “The Monticello School District will be able use this grant to purchase ipads to fund model classrooms for integrating the Project Lead The Way curriculum to enhance science with technology at the Monticello Intermediate campus.”

Since 2011, the Monsanto Fund program has awarded more than $9 million to rural school districts to enhance math and science education.
