The City of Monticello will host four town hall forums to collect citizen-input for a community-wide placemaking plan called Our Place.
The two-hour forums, one for each of the city’s four wards, will be held on four separate dates from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Sadie Johnson Community Center in Jordan Park on the east side of Monticello. The forum dates by ward are:
Ward 1: March 13
Ward 2: March 6
Ward 3: March 10
Ward 4: March 11
Citizens who are unsure of the ward in which they reside may call Monticello City Hall at 870-367-4400.
The city in January began collecting information for a strategic plan to guide the city in capital improvement projects, programs, services, special events and key issues affecting its citizens.
“Town hall forums are a great way to get in-depth information about communities and for citizens to learn more about City of Monticello’s capital projects, programs, services, special events and key issues affecting residents,” according to a news release from Monticello City Hall.
The city has already collected more than 350 submissions from an online community survey at monticelloar.org. Submissions are still being accepted on the website.
