[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Drew County Ministerial Alliance, City of Monticello and local law enforcement will host a town hall meeting on August 14 to discuss ways to improve the relationship between law enforcement and members of the community.
A flyer announcing the event was sent to local media and distributed around the community.
“We are searching for ways to address the issues in our community that have long term benefits for everyone,” the flyer reads. “Fear, anger, distrust are not a path for a better tomorrow. We want to improve our black, white, Hispanic, and law enforcement relationships. We want to show respect for all. We must provide safety for all. We want to foster the freedom for all to pursue their hopes and dreams in peace.”
The town hall meeting, including a panel discussion with questions and comments from attendees, will be held at the Monticello Middle School Auditorium on August 14 at 2 p.m.
The event is open to the public and suitable for all ages. Childcare will be provided.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
