Monticello Youth Football League, formerly the MJFL, has begun a traveling youth football league for students in grades three through six.

Monticello Youth Football League

The teams will travel to surrounding towns each Saturday and play football at different stadiums.

The third and fourth grade players will make up one team while the fifth and sixth grade players will make up another team.

With the support of the Monticello School District, the teams will wear “Billie Blue” uniforms with the school mascot on the jersey.

Flag football will continue as before and games will be played as scheduled. Children must be in the first or second grade to play flag football. The flag teams will be drafted by board members.

A new web site should be up by the end of the week and sign-ups may be done at that time if you wish to pay online. There will be two sign-up periods over the next two weeks. The first will be at Hibbett Sports, Aug. 16, from 10 a.m. until noon. The next sign up period will be at Ryburn Automotive Superstore on August 23 from 10 a.m. until noon. Ryburn will also be hosting UAM Athletics Fan Day, so it is a great way to sign up for football and meet the UAM athletes and coaching staff.

The sign-up dates listed above are for flag football and third through sixth grade players and cheerleaders.
