Morris Edward Durey, 85 of Wilmar, died December 27, 2020 at his home.
He was born August 4, 1935 in Rohwer and was the son of the late Fletcher Durey and Hazel Dumemn Durey.
Mr. Durey was a crane operator, retiring after 35 years. He worked for Fluor-Daniels Crane Services of Greenville, S.C., and was a United State Army veteran, serving from 1956 to 1959 and earning top secret clearance. While serving in Korea, Mr. Durey spent 16 and a half months working on the Honest John Guided Rocket Systems.
He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church in Possum Valley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceding him in death by his daughter, Sharon Durey; brothers, Lonzo Durey, James Allen Durey and Travis Durey and his grandchildren, William Moore Jr, and Leslie Ann Moore.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Baker Durey of Wilmar; son, Cliff Moore and wife Laverne of Warren; daughters, Armelta Briggs and husband David of Denver, Colorado, Cathy Baker and husband Billy of Van Buren, Jennifer Simpson and husband Chris of Wilmar; a sister, Betty Garrison of Monticello; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 31, at 2 p.m. at the Collins Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren.
