The Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Warren will host a youth retreat featuring Christian rappers and motivational speakers on Wednesday and celebrate its 145th anniversary on Sunday, according to Rev. Eddie Hampton Sr., church pastor.

The “Christ-Swag” youth retreat will be held at the church at 6 p.m. Special entertainment will be Christian rappers Ron Daniel and Charles Mayo “the Demonslayer” of Divine 7 Entertainment, a Little Rock-based entertainment group. Motivational speakers will be Dr. Machell Dailey of Mt. Carmel; Coach Sandra Hatley, girls basketball coach at Warren High School; Denzell Brown, minister of PowerHouse COGIC; Jennifer Franklin, minister of House of Prayer in Fountain Hill; and Alfonzo Franklin, youth pastor of House of Prayer at Fountain Hill.

The event will be held at the church, located at 510 N. Walnut Street in Warren.

On Sunday, October 28, the church will celebrate its 145th anniversary with special guests during the morning and evening services.

During the morning service, which begins at 10:45 a.m., the special music guests will be the Golden Stars. During the evening service, which begins at 3:30 p.m., the guest church will be House of Refuge and Deliverance Church of Mayflower where Dr. Lloyd Lasker is the pastor.

The theme for the anniversary services is “Raising Up a Nation that Can Change the World.”

Both events will be held at the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church located at 510 N. Walnut Street in Warren. Rev. Eddie Hampton Sr. said everyone is welcome to both events.
