A 33-year-old convicted murderer escaped from the Tucker Maximum Security Unit Monday afternoon in a water tank atop an 18-wheel tractor trailer.
Curtis Dwain Reese Jr., and another inmate, James B. Ryan left the prison at about 1:30 p.m. on the water tank and jumped off in the Ferda area in Jefferson County. Ryan has been captured.
Reese, who is serving a 40-year prison sentence for a 1997 double murder in Saline County, is described as a white male, about 5-foot, 10 inches in height and weighing about 176 pounds. He has green eyes and a number of tattoos, including: a tattoo of a sword/swastika with eagle; a tattoo of a swastika and cross; a tattoo of a skull on the inside of his right arm; a tribal art tattoo; a scar on his front left arm; a swastika tattoo; and a tattoo of two skulls.
