Murphy Gillespie, 80, of Star City passed away on November 25, 2019 at his home.
He was born on January 30, 1939 in Lincoln County to the late Louie Earl and Agnes Tiner Gillespie.
Mr. Gillespie was affiliated with Shepherd’s Chapel Baptist Church, was a retired mechanic from National Wire, and was a member of the N.R.A.
Also preceding him in death were his wife, Peggy Britt Gillespie; a son, Alan Gillespie; a daughter, Lisa Gillespie; and a brother, Vernon Gillespie.
Survivors include a daughter, Shari (Troy) Gillespie Roberts; two grandchildren, Kane (Miriam) Roberts and Kacee (Carter) Reynolds; four great-grandchildren, Jensen Reynolds, Noah Roberts, Britten Reynolds and Zoey Roberts, all of Star City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Service, followed by graveside services at 2:30 p.m. at Butler/Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Bro. Bill Davidson officiating.
Pallbearers are Carter Reynolds, Kane Roberts, Troy Roberts, Thomas Green, Allen Britt and Kyle Shelby.
