Nettie Geynell Hagood, 89, of Eudora, passed away on June 8, 2016.
She served on the Indian Switch Water Association Board for many years and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Eudora where she taught Sunday school for many years. Geynell enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Mrs. Haygood was born on December 22, 1926 in Eudora to the late Lee and Maude Peais Brooks.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Hagood; grandson, Bo Smith and great-granddaughter, Bailey Smith.
Survivors include a son, James (Jimmie) Hagood of Petal, Mississippi; daughters, Carolyn Smith of Jackson, Mississippi and Patsy (Albert) Nichols of Eudora; brothers, Paul Brooks of Hamburg, Clyde Cundiff of Eudora, and Hansel Cundiff of Scurry, Texas; sisters, Audrey Elliott of Eudora, Geraldine Bragg of Eudora, Laverne Williams of Sherwood, Donna Ruth Venable of Grady, Lucille Crosby of Kosciusko, Mississippi, Collette Smith of Epps, Louisiana, Rose Mary Brooks of Bastrop, Louisiana, and Christine DeLoach of Batesville, Mississippi; grandchildren, Kenneth Hagood of Cincinnati, Ohio, Stephen Smith of Jackson, Mississippi, and Jennifer Givens of Rayville, Louisiana; great-grandchildren, Spencer Hagood and Ashley Smith; and great great-grandchild, Sawyer Smith.
Visitation will be held on June 10 from 5 p.m. until 7p.m. Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in Eudora. Funeral services will be held on June 11 at 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Eudora with Rev. Sanders Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora.
