Norma Bennett Lawrence, 90, of Hamburg, died January 10, 2021, in Crossett.
Mrs. Lawrence was a native and resident of Hamburg for most of her life, a former resident of the Houston/Alvin, Texas area, and West Monroe, Louisiana.
She was a homemaker and she retired from the Crossett School District after 25 years of service. Mrs. Lawrence served as the secretary/treasurer of the Cleveland Cemetery Association for many years and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas William Smith, Jr.; her parents, Floyd and Lillie Norrell Bennett; two brothers, Aubrey and Leward Bennett and two sisters, Myrtle Bennett Nutter Atkins and Velma Bennett Farmer.
She is survived by a son, Doyle Lawrence and wife, Denise, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; two daughters, Jane Smith and husband, Tommy, of McGehee and Judy Rocconi and husband, Charles, of Greenville, Mississippi; two sisters, Robbie Walter of Fountain Hill and Macel Oden of Hamburg; six grandchildren, Nathan Smith, Rita Whitt, Renae Dickson, Matt Rocconi, John Rocconi and Leslie Nelms; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 12, at 10 a.m. at the Cleveland Cemetery with Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Brian Oden, Rodney Farmer, Sammy Oden, David Nutter, Damon Dean, James Higginbotham and Royce Bowden.
