Odis Clark Atkins, 88, of Eudora, died on June 9, 2014, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Atkins worked for Texas Gas Transmission Corporation for more than 40 years and served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He coached Little League Baseball when his sons were growing up and loved to garden, hunt, and fish.
Mr. Atkins was born in Bradley County on September 7, 1925 and was the son of the late Walter and Annie Groves Atkins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Linda Diane Luman and Sandra Kay Wylie; and granddaughter, Jordan Dawson.
Survivors include his wife, Polly Perry Atkins of Eudora; sons, Glen Atkins and wife, Michele of North Yarmouth, Maine and Wayne Atkins of Carthage, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held June 12 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in Lake Village. Funeral services will be June 12 at 8 p.m, at the funeral home with Rev. Kenny Culpepper officiating. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
