An Oklahoma physician was arrested in Chicot County Monday evening in connection with the death of an Oklahoma woman he was traveling with, according to information in an Arkansas State Police news release.

Dr. Tyler Tait, 34, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma was taken into custody at Lake Village and is being held at the Chicot County Jail charged with first degree murder.

Around 12:15 p.m. Monday, Chicot County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a woman in need of medical assistance. Moria Kinsey, 37, also of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, was found lying outside a vehicle parked along U.S. Highway 65, approximately two miles north of Lake Village, near the McMillan Corner community. Dr. Tait was near the vehicle.

Kinsey was transported to an area hospital and pronounced deceased at 2:18 p.m. by a local doctor. Her body was then transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory where the manner and cause of death is being determined.

State Police special agents examined the vehicle Tait and Kinsey had been traveling in from Mississippi and found evidence of a physical altercation inside, according to State Police.

State Police arrested Tait Monday evening after interviewing Tait and consulting with 10th Judicial District Prosecutor Thomas Deen, according to State Police.
