A Hamburg resident was killed and two people were injured Monday morning in a 2-vehicle crash in Lincoln County, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report.
Athciri Martinez, 25, of Hamburg, was traveling south on Interstate 530, south of Highway 114, when a northbound Dodge Ram crossed the center line and struck Martinez’s Hyundai Tucson head-on, causing the Martinez vehicle to overturn, according to the report.
Martinez died in the accident. An unnamed minor who was a passenger in the Martinez vehicle and the driver of the Dodge Ram, John Hodges, Jr., 43, of Kelly, Louisiana were both injured, according to the report.
The accident occurred at 6:13 a.m. Monday morning. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry when the crash occurred.
At least 163 people have been killed on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to preliminary figures.

Update: The state police report identifies Martinez as a male. Seark Today subsequently received information via e-mail that Martinez is a female.
