A young Southeast Arkansas man was killed and another was injured in a one-vehicle accident in Desha County early Sunday morning, according to a State Police preliminary accident report.

Dane Miles, 19, of McGehee, was killed and Bradley Wilson, 19, of Tillar, was injured in the accident which occurred at 1:17 a.m. on Arkansas 1 in Desha County, according to the report.

Miles and Wilson were traveling north on Arkansas 1 when the 2009 Chevrolet Wilson was driving left the roadway and traveled onto the shoulder where he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle traveled back across the roadway and overturned, then struck a tree off the side of the road, according to Arkansas State Trooper Gordon Seawood’s preliminary accident report.

Miles died at the scene of the accident and Wilson was transported to a McGehee hospital. A funeral service for Miles will be held on Wednesday, October 7 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in McGehee. Visitation is Tuesday, October 6 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at  Griffin Culpepper Funeral Home.
