Dr. Warren “Skip” MacDonald, an orthopedic surgeon who has been practicing for 39 years, has joined the Ashley County Medical Center team.
A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. MacDonald received his medical degree from M.D. Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at the United States Naval Hospital in Philadelphia. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
As an orthopedic surgeon, MacDonald uses both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, sports injuries, infections, degenerative diseases, tumors and congenital disorders. He specializes in joint replacement, trauma, arthroscopy, and concussions.
MacDonald says he wants to “bring orthopaedic and concussion care close to home.”
“Dr. MacDonald is a tremendous asset not only to Ashley County Medical Center, but to our region,” said Ashley County Medical Center CEO Phillip Gilmore. “We are blessed and fortunate to have an orthopedic surgeon with his skills in our community; and this will enable families to obtain their orthopedic care close to home. Dr. Macdonald’s office, Ashley Specialty Clinic, will have the latest state of the art technology. We are grateful his family has chosen Crossett to be their home. He has committed to being here, being involved, and caring for patients in need.”
