Cane Creek State Park is offering an overnight kayaking and backpacking trip on November, 7. The event will include a guided kayaking day trip to a camping shelter where you can spend the night under the stars, then wake up to the sights and sounds of the woodlands as you hike 6.5 miles back to the park, according to a Cane Creek news release.
The trip starts out with a quick lesson on kayaking and short rules for the trip. After you get into your kayak, Cane Creek guides will give you a tour of Cane Creek Lake, a very unique lake in Arkansas full of historical and natural significance. As soon as you get to your destination, you will learn the basics about setting up camp. As night settles learn how to cook dinner in a Dutch oven. Finally, in the morning, after an authentic campfire breakfast, you can begin the journey home with a guided 6.5 mile hike back to the park, according to the news release.
If you have a group of four or more that would like to take the trip, contact Seth Boone at (870) 628-4714.
