Ozeal Cruz, 60, of Snyder, died on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science Hospital in Little Rock.
Mrs. Cruz was a native of Oberlin, Louisiana; a resident of Snyder for the past eight years and a former resident of the Martinville community, north of Hamburg for most of her life.
She worked at the Hamburg Shirt Factory, Catfish Inn and J & C Discount Tobacco Shoppe for many years. She was a caregiver to her lifelong friend, Carolyn McKinney, and was a member of the Martinville Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her companion of 17 years, Lloyd Eugene “Frog” Price; a daughter, Jamie Kay Walters; a grandson, Joseph Benjamin Washam; her parents, Ralph and Wynona Morgan Towe; a sister, Rose Marie Towe; a brother, David Towe, a brother-in-law, Billy Copeland; a sister-in-law, Reba Towe and her mother-in-law, Maria Cruz.
She is survived by two daughters, Gina Cruz-Nelms and husband, Mart, of Hamburg and LeAnn Davis and husband, John, of Johnsville; two sons, Stacey Wayne Walters of Snyder and Clayton Price of Hamburg; three brothers, Jesse Towe and wife, Theresa, of Lake Village, Bruce Towe and wife, Sue, of Hamburg and Billy Towe and wife, Theresa, of Beekman, Louisiana; two sisters, Nancy Copeland of Cleveland, Texas and Tina Morgan and husband, Jessie, of Hamburg; 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Edward Gulledge and J. W. Dobbins officiating. Burial will be in the Sims Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Buster Funkhouser, Jimmy Horn, Greg Price, D’wayne Smith, Kevin Martin and Gunner Price. Honorary pallbearers are Donnie Horn, Johnny Carpenter, Mike McManus James Matthews, Donald Matthews and Petey Matthews.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
