Three Ashley County men have been arrested in connection with the non-fatal shooting of a man following an alleged drug deal on Monday, according to Ashley County Narcotics Detective Bobby Linder.
Odell Smith, 21, of Wilmot, received three gunshot wounds, one to the leg, one to the back and another to the head, according to Linder.
“He’s lucky all it did was graze his head,” Linder said referring to Smith’s head wound, a one inch gash on the top of his head.
Linder said Cason Henderson, 19, of Crossett, Danny Lawson, 44, of Parkdale, and Jonathan Lawson, 21, of Crossett, were arrested Monday in connection with the shooting. Henderson and Danny Lawson are both being held on a $100,000 bonds while Jonathan Lawson is being held on a $50,000 bond.
Based on the statement of three of the four men, all four had been traveling in the same vehicle prior to the shooting, Linder said.
“They had purchased crack in Wilmot, then went to Parkdale where an argument ensued with the victim and he got out of the vehicle at a church outside of Parkdale,” Linder said, referring to statements he said were provided by the men.
Linder said Henderson fired seven shots at Smith, striking him three times.
