Peggy Gilbert Dang, 80, of McGehee passed away on August 22, 2018 in Monticello.
She was born on June 3, 1938 in Gunnison, Mississippi.
She was a very faithful servant of the Lord and a member at Ravenswood Covenant Church when she lived in Chicago. She loved spending time with her family and friends, crocheting and making afghan blankets and scarves for everyone she cared about, cross-stitching, and reading inspirational books, especially the Bible. She was a joy to know, always a friend, and was loved by many.
She is survived by her five children, Sheryl Powell (Gary) of Gould, Mark Boyd (Jan) of Florida, Kimberly Boyd of Tennessee, Regina Williams (Randy) of Tillar and Tina Madej (Daniel) of Indiana; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Margie Mathews, Jan Brass, and Pam Hawkins of Little Rock, and Faye Fowler, Pat Bass, and Marty Gilbert of McGehee, and Linda Paladino of Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Thelma (Burton) Gilbert; brother, Ken Gilbert; son, Jeff Boyd; grandson, Eric Boyd; and granddaughter Amy Powell.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 25 from 10 a.m. until noon at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas. A memorial service will follow at noon at the funeral home. The memorial service will be led by Pastor Phil Staurseth from Ravenswood Covenant Church in Chicago.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, as well as Jewish Voice Ministries International or Voices of the Martyrs where Ms. Peggy paid her monthly tithes.
