Peggy June Sanders Shores, 83 of Star City, passed away on June 3, 2020 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
She was born March 26, 1937 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to the late Silas and Pearl Thomas Sanders.
Mrs. Shores faithfully attended First Freewill Baptist Church, where she was active in the Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was retired from Tyson as a line worker, but her heart was working as a nurse’s aide in different nursing homes and private home care. She loved reading, helping others and crocheting.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Charley Shores.
Survivors include her daughter, Danya (Louis) Cogbill of Star City; brother, Roy Sanders of Oklahoma; sister, Dorothy Sanders of Lynchburg, Virginia; two grandchildren, Randy (Patricia) Shores of White Hall and Kip Cogbill of Little Rock; two great-grandchildren, Kasey (Jacob) Johnston of Hermitage and Austin Shores of White Hall; a great great-grandson, Sailor Johnston; and many many friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 5 at Best Cemetery with Bro. Justin Holt officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Only 50 people are allowed in the funeral home at a time and a mask will be required.
