Perry Jordan, 100, of Crossett, passed away on September 6, 2017.
Mr. Jordan was born on January 18, 1917 in Milo and was the son of the late Charlie Henry and Ollie Pogue Jordan. He was one of thirteen children.
Mr. Jordan was the owner of Jordan Bros. Garage and a member of Crossett Lodge #576. He was a devoted husband and loved his family. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and served as a Men’s Sunday school teacher.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 79 years, Leona Johnson Jordan; his brothers, J. B., LeRoy, Delton, Royce, Green, Delmar and Parnell Jordan; and his sisters, Eula Belle Brantley, Annie Morman, Gladys Johnston and Myrtle Willis.
Survivors include two sons, Glenn Jordan (Alice) of Crossett, and Don Jordan (Nona) of West Monroe, Louisiana; a daughter, Betty Rodgers (Bill) of Crossett; a sister, Pauline McClain of El Dorado; eight grandchildren, Larry Jordan of Little Rock, David Jordan (Carolyn), Stephen Jordan (Brenda), all of Crossett, Damon Jordan (Sondra) of Houston, Texas, Lisa Payton of Monroe, Louisiana, Paige Grissom (Jason) of Crossett, Brooke Hogue (Tony) of Monticello, Derek Rodgers (Briana) of Crossett, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 8, at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Bro. Eric Hodge officiating. Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Visitation will be held at the church from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
