Phyllis Raye Searcy, 80, of Crossett, went to join her heavenly Father on April 27, 2020.
She was born in Monroe, Louisiana on September 19, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Fred and Ardecie McLeod.
Mrs. Searcy loved writing short stories, songs, and poetry. She was full of life and loved making everyone laugh. In her younger days, she enjoyed skating, dancing, and loved singing, she had the voice of an angel. Her love and faith in God was strong and got her through a lot of tough battles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Searcy; two stepchildren, Mike and KayLynn, and six siblings.
She is survived by her five children, Ann Rickman, Melissa Nix (Mike), Heath Meeks, and Michelle Meeks all of Crossett, and Felicia Jones (Steve) of Hot Springs; stepchildren, Cheryl Searcy, Randy Searcy (Lee), and Greg Searcy, all from Newellton, Louisiana.
Known as “Mom-Mom” by her grandchildren, Mrs. Searcy is also survived by her 19 grandchildren, Shane Rickman (Dana), Jerrick Rickman (Ashley), Tabitha Douglas (Cliff), Tiffany Brantley (Ryan), Cassie Lord (Mason), Gunner Jones, Dustin Farnell, Jacob Meeks (Evie), Ashley Barentine (Charles), Tristan Hinton (Miranda), and Landon Meeks; and great-grandchildren, Treble, Dakota, Daisy, and Adenna Rickman, Heather Hudson, Ethan, Emily, and Ellet Douglas, Kaylynn Hinton, Carson and Alan Brantley, Ryder and River Farnell, and Bailey, Cambria, Emma, and Kenzley Meeks; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held Thursday, April 30, at 11 a.m. with Bro. James Fleming, officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Shane Rickman, Jerrick Rickman, Gunner Jones, Jacob Meeks, Tristan Hinton, and Dustin Farnell.
