Monticello police have interviewed about four people but still have not developed any leads in the Friday night robbery of the Western Sizzlin restaurant on U.S. 425 North.

Shortly after 10 p.m., a lone black male wearing black clothing, a black ski mask, and gloves broke the glass door of the restaurant, went inside, and ordered the manager to give him the bank deposit bag, according to Monticello Police Lt. Eddy Deaton.

The robber, who is described as about 5-feet, 10-inches in height with a medium build, was armed with a handgun but didn’t point it at the manager, Deaton said.

The manager was in the back of the restaurant when the robbery occurred and didn’t see if the man fled on foot or in a vehicle, according to Deaton.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Monticello Police Department at 367-3411
