A man hunting in Drew County this week found what he believed to human skeletal remains, according to a news release from the Drew County Sheriff’s Office.

The remains, found Monday along a shooting lane in a wooded area where the man hunts, appeared to be greatly weathered and had been there for an extended period of time, possibly for years, according to Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober.

Investigators from the Drew County Sheriff’s Office photographed the scene and sent the remains to the State Crime Laboratory for testing.
