R.H. Tuggle, 86, of Portland passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village.
He was born February 3, 1931 in Sharp County, Arkansas to the late Carlie Cleo and Elsie Lee Mobley Tuggle.
Mr. Tuggle was involved in many different businesses and organizations in his life. In the 1960s, he was the top insurance salesman in the United States for First American Insurance. He worked as a contractor, was a lifetime member of the NRA, served in the U.S. Air Force, was a Mason, and loved to work on his family farm. His greatest job was being a devoted husband, raising and providing for his three girls and grandchildren. He was a member of Gideon Baptist Church in Gideon, Missouri.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Tuggle was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Joann Taylor Tuggle, and a brother, Gerald Tuggle.
He is survived by three daughters, Paula Jayne Tuggle Bollich and her husband, Damian of Jones of Louisiana, Patti Karen Tuggle of Lake Village, and Andrea Lee Taylor Tuggle Smith of Portland; two brothers, Bob Tuggle and his wife, Ruth of Evening Shade and Donald Tuggle of Jonesboro; three sisters, Sylvia Breeden and her husband Bill of Licking, Missouri, Carlene Waddell of Florissant, Missouri, and Frances Hughes of Malden, Missouri; six grandchildren, Brandon Bollich and his wife Julie, Matthew Bollich, Larkin Tuggle, Dane Pardon, Carlee Smith, and Cody Smith, one great-grandchild, Luke Bollich, his four legged friend, Boxer, and a host of friends and family who loved and will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 25 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village. Graveside services will be Tuesday, September 26 at 10 a.m. at Portland Cemetery in Portland.
