Ramona Sue Cates Kelley Ball, 91, of Little Rock and Star City passed away June 19, 2021 in Star City.
She was born October 29, 1929 in Belleville to the late Alfred Coy and Lola Jewel (McGuran) Cates.
She was an avid doll collector and maker. She was a member of Happy Hour Doll Club and The Southern Belle Doll Club. Her hobbies also included all types of arts and crafts, traveling and antiquing. Sue was always willing to help someone and opened her home to many. Sue was a member of Western Hills Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Jennie B. Hopkins chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her daughters, Missy Kelley Nesterenko of Little Rock and Vicky Ball Edmonds of Star City; sisters, Brenda Cates McClaine of Lamar and Ann Cates Peterson of Petaluma, California; her grandchildren, Cameron Nesterenko of Little Rock, Davy and Jody Edmonds of Star City and Julia Ann LaRue of Hot Springs; and eight great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death were her parents; her husband, Doyne R. Ball; daughters, Sherry Lynn and Sheila Kay Kelley; brothers, Loyd, Joe, Bobby and Hayden Cates; sisters, Eunice Cates Moore and Billie Cates Dolley.
The family expresses thanks and gratitude to the staff at Dalton’s Place in Star City for their loving care.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at a later date.
