Raymond Myrick, 78, of Dumas, passed away on November 13, 2015.
He was a cutter and vice president of DanTan Incorporated in Dumas for 31 years. He was a member and deacon at Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school. He served in the Arkansas National Guard and was a graduate of Star City High School.
Mr. Myrick dedicated his life to his church and his family.
He was born on August 28, 1937 in the Little Garnett community in Lincoln County. He was the son of the late William H. Myrick and Mary E. Carter Myrick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Myrick and William Myrick, Jr.
Survivors are his wife, June Myrick of Dumas; a son, Mike Myrick of Mountain View; a daughter, Lynnette (Dr. Bob) Rook of Conway; grandchildren, Jonathan (Krissi) Myrick, Rachel (Brady) Vinson, Jessica (Mike) Sims, Matthew (Katelyn) Brown, Taylor Brown, Katie Haan, Carter (Brita) Rook and Annie (Jeremy) Deramus; great grandchildren, Aiden, Addilynn and Aubree Myrick, Erin and Everly Vinson, Dawson Brown and John David Deacon; brothers, Loyd (Faye) Myrick, Joe (Myrt) Myrick, Herman (Pauline) Myrick and Dale Myrick; sisters, Laverne Burnett, Barbara Jacks, Margaret (Stan) Olson; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is November 14 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas. Funeral services will be held on November 15 at 2:30 p.m. at Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Julius Carter and Rev. Steve Hoskins officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Lake Cemetery.
