Reginald Jack Allen, 76, of Monticello, passed away November 22, 2021, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
He was born May 29, 1945, in Monticello, to the late Bishop Ray Allen and Mavis Carter McCone.
Mr. Allen was a retired carpenter and a member of Rose Hill Free Will Baptist Church. He loved deer hunting, his guns and woodworking.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bruce Allen; a sister, Marion Allen; and half-brothers, E.L. Allen, Bishop Ray Allen, Jr., Rutledge Allen, Donald Allen and Ronald Allen.
Survivors include his wife, LaVeda Oakes Allen of Monticello; two sons, Shannon Allen and wife Angie of Waco, Texas and Kris Allen and wife Amy of Sheridan; one daughter, Krystle Montgomery and husband Phil of Shreveport, Louisiana; a half-sister, Mary Slaughter of Overland Park, Kansas; two sisters, Wanda Hudson of Farmersville, Texas and Brenda Jiles of Monticello; six grandsons, three granddaughters, two great grandsons; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 28, at 3 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello with Rev. Dwayne Roper officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
