Rene Tamayo Castaneda, 75, of Gould, passed away July 5, 2021 in Pine Bluff.
He was born December 20, 1945, Weslaco, Texas, and was the son of the late Ventura and Mary Castaneda.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Annette Castaneda and his son, Armando Montemayor.
Mr. Castaneda was a Catholic. He retired from Food Max where he was a meat cutter for many years. He was kind and loving husband and father.
Survivors are his loving wife, Yolanda Castaneda, Gould; one son, Greg Castaneda of Indio, California; one daughter, Helen Castaneda of Gould; one grandson that he and his wife raised, Andre Torres of California; five brothers, George Castaneda of Texas, George Tamayo of Oregon, Fred Tamayo of Texas, Daniel Tamayo of Oregon and Felix Tamayo; five sisters, Kathy Castaneda Kotara of Texas, Lily Gonzales of Texas, Dorothy Naylin of Oregon, Elida Medina of Texas and Elain Rodriquez of Texas; 14 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at Saturday, July 10 at 11 a.m. at Holy Child Catholic Church in Dumas with Father Mark Abban officiating.
