Rev. Fay Richard Collins, 79, of Dumas, passed away on May 28, 2018 at Little Rock.
He was a carpenter by trade but a preacher in his heart. He loved God, his family and his church. He was a member of Daniels Chapel Baptist Church. He also served in the United States Army during Vietnam, the most important part of his service was the Cuban crisis when the U.S. almost went to war; he was on full alert and confined to their base.
Rev. Fay was born on February 4, 1939 at Wells Bayou and was the son of the late John and Jennie Bob Wilkerson Collins.
Survivors are his loving wife, Dottie King Collins; a son, Keith (Kat) Collins of Tillar; a grandson, whom he was very proud of, Justin Collins of Tillar; three brothers, his twin Ray Collins of Dumas, Jimmy (Monita) Collins of Hot Springs Village, and Randy (Jenny) Collins of Dumas; and two sisters, Deborah (Ray, Jr.) Smith of East End, Arkansas and Barbara Mejia of Louisiana.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 31, at 1 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Revs. Dean Dancer and Craig Henley will officiate. Burial will be at Tyro Cemetery.
