Rev. Joe Robert McClellan, 88, of Warren, died April 5, 2020 at the John R. Williamson Life Touch Hospice House in El Dorado.
He was born on February 17, 1932 at New Edinburg and was the son of the late Rev. Horace McClellan and Lois Allen McClellan.
Rev. McClellan worked as a millwright and a television repairman for 38 years. He was also a pastor for 43 years, pastoring at the Chapel Hill Baptist Church, Farmville Baptist Church, Tinsman Baptist Church and finally the Moro Bay Baptist Church, where maintained his membership following retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest McClellan and Grice McClellan; and two sisters, Sisters Alene Erwin and Lois Riggins Maple.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Louise Phillips McClellan; a son, Robert Dale McClellan and wife, Amber, of Vieques, Puerto Rico; daughters, Rhonda Daniel of Warren and Phyllis Barnard and husband Wade of Wilmar; granddaughters, Candice Wolf and husband, Jason, of Springfield, Missouri and Brittany Moring and husband, Andrew, of Rye; a great-grandson, Quincy Wolf; a brother, Eddie Lee McClellan and wife, Una Mae, of Malvern, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be Wednesday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at Reaves Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the cemetery from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.
