Rev. Leonard N. Ricketts, 83, a longtime resident of Dumas, passed away on September 6, 2021.
He was born September 30, 1937, in Waynesboro, Tennessee the son of the late, Roy and Anna Lou Devers Ricketts. His parents, and loving wife Claudetta “Ding Dong” Singleton Ricketts, four brothers Edward, Richard, David, and Joe Ricketts and three sisters Jean Kilburn, June Davis and Ruth Bottoms all preceded him in death.
He was a member of Watson Assembly of God Church and attended the Garrett Bridge Assembly of God Church. He was co-owner and accountant for 41 years at Westerman-Ricketts. He served 39 years as minister for Watson Assembly of God Church. He also served as president of Arkansas Society of Public accountants and was a member of Kiwanis Club. He served in the United States Navy.
Survivors are three daughters Terri (Pat) Wood of Gallatin, Tennessee, Debbie (Robert) Priest of Dumas and Rene’ (Wesley) Westerman of Dumas; one sister, Louise Rice of Clinton; eight grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 8, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home. We ask that mask be worn inside.
Funeral services will be held at Thursday, September 9, at 2 p.m. at Watson Assembly of God Church with Brother Dean Caldwell and Brother Paul Pickens officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Lake Cemetery in Pickens. Following CDC guidelines, mask must be worn inside. Memorials may be made to donor’s choice of charity.
