Rev. Wallace Ray Ferguson, 75, of Monticello, formerly of Warren, passed away on June 4, 2019 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello.

He was born on February 9, 1944 in Little Rock and was the son of the late Wallace Elton Ferguson and Lillian Richardson Ferguson.

Mr. Ferguson was a 1962 graduate of Warren High School. He furthered his education at the University of Arkansas at Monticello where he received his Bachelor of Music Education Degree. He also received a Bachelor degree in Religion and Greek from Ouachita Baptist University. In 1964, while still attending college, he was ordained into the gospel ministry and served many churches across Arkansas singing and preaching God’s word.

He and his wife successfully owned and operated Kid’s World Christian Preschool in Monticello for more than 35 years.

Left to honor and remember Mr. Ferguson is his wife of 53 years, Linda Etheridge Ferguson; a son, Rev. Jeffery Todd Ferguson of Monticello; a daughter, Leslie Michelle Ferguson of Monticello, and a beloved granddaughter, PV2 Hannah Michelle Ferguson of Monticello; a sister, Linda Balsley and husband, Marvin, of Fredericksburg, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Smith and husband, Scotty, of Benton, and Marilyn McCarthy of Monticello; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 9 at 1 p.m at Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Rev. Dennis Dodson will officiate the service and Rev. Joe Chambers will assist. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
